There is no more food going in that body so in recent times like when you walk on a diet you lose weight, if you don't chomp through at all you will lose cargo. Dehydration could be another reason. I own heard that too, I estimate they only lose 21 grams, similar to in the movie "21 grams". (I haven't see it, just the preview.) Maybe dying burns calories.
