Who created/discovered antiseptics?

There are various forms of antiseptics. What i know that would be more pertinent to your question is...who first made use of antiseptic treatment, especially within surgery.
Joseph Lister, a british military doctor in the 18th century, discovered that use of antiseptics would importantly improve the outcome of surgical procedures . Before that time, antiseptics werent used on surgery.

although many shamans, witch doctors, oracle and early physicians hold long known heaps plants and herbs also hold antiseptic properties. As this information has be handed down respectively generation as word of mouth so in that is no known "discoverer" of antiseptics.
