Why they use serpent symbol within Medical pasture?
The symbol, called the Rod of Asclepius, is a staff next to a snake wrapped around it. It is often mistakenly call and represented as a caduceus, a winged staff near two snakes.
One theory roughly the origin of the rod as a symbol for healers relates to a treatment for subdermal bedbugs called Guinea worms - where on earth they are drawn out from under the skin by wrapping them around and around a stick.
In fable, the healer Asclepius is depicted with a staff near a snake wrapped around it.
I seem to remember a story from the dated testament about when the Israelites be wandering in the desert. they be plagued by some infestation so moses prays and receives instructions to fabricate a sign or picture of a snake that whoso would look upon it would be heal.
This is called the Caduceus.
It originate from an ancient Greek practice of fasting and meditation surrounded by a temple. Turns out the temple was infested next to snakes, though they didn't generally bother the population who came within. The treatment for a disease was to meditate, sleep on it, and the answer to an ailment would appear in a dream
The "remedies" so collected be engraved on the walls of the temple. The snakes intertwined became the symbol of medical therapeutic.
Maybe it represents the copper serpent that healed the sick Israelites contained by the Old Testament of the Bible.
